要旨

Coral reefs and seagrass beds are two sea natural resources that are various natural gifts for the earth. The better in exploration and preservation these habitats is the better for sustainable development of marine environment. The Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) have been become suitable tools for better management, protection, exploration coral reefs and seagrass beds since first satellite was launched. Therefore, this study has integrated RS and GIS techniques to map and detect change of coral reefs, seagrass beds habitats in An Thoi and Bai Bon area, Phu Quoc Island, Viet Nam. Seagrass and coral reefs in An Thoi and Bai Bon areas have been mapped by using imageries of Landsat 2007 and Aster 2004. Based coral reefs and seagrass habitats maps, the change of coral reefs and seagrass beds has been detected in two periods 1992-2007 and 2000-2004.
